Director of Organizing

Position Summary:
BAJI seeks a highly experienced Director of Organizing to manage and build BAJI’s organizing and campaign work. As a member of BAJI’s Directors team and in consultation with BAJI staff, the Director of Organizing will lead the organization’s local, state, and national organizing initiatives.
This position oversees, guides, trains, and develops organizers in our six Chapters: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, and the San Francisco Bay Area. These organizers are responsible for the base-building and campaign work, including “Stop Cop City” in Atlanta, “ICE out of CA” in Los Angeles, and “Dignity Not in Detention” in New York, among others. At the national level, BAJI engages in advocacy and community power-building aimed at protecting the rights of Black migrants through our nationwide campaign #ProtectBlackMigrants.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Staff Attorney

Position Description:
We seek an immigration attorney to join our young and vibrant immigration practice. The immigration attorney will represent clients in deportation proceedings, provide affirmative immigration services, and pursue community-based systemic reform litigation and advocacy aimed at reforming harsh and violent federal immigration laws.

The BAJI Bay Area Organizer will be responsible for implementing the BAJI strategic plan in consultation with BAJI staff, BAJI Organizing Committee members, and strategic partners. They will show leadership and commitment to BAJI guiding principles, framework, analysis and implementation methods.
Operations Director

Position Description:
As a senior staff member within our dynamic organization, the Operations Director will lead and maintain BAJI’s infrastructure, enabling the organization to expand its reach and engagement in the racial justice and immigrant rights movements. Specifically, the Operations Director will lead “people operations,” knowledge management, administrative planning, and implementation, and support financial, fundraising, and internal communications efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented administration and operations professional to use creativity and innovation to further advance the infrastructure of one of the nation’s premier racial justice and migrant rights organizations. As the face of BAJI in various forums, the Operations Director will also cultivate meaningful partnerships and compellingly articulate our mission to a broader audience.
