BAJI Receives Mackenzie Scott Gift
BAJI receives Mackenzie Scott gift in recognition of our impactful and inspiring work
Monday, November 14th, 2022 – The Black Alliance for Just immigration (BAJI) has been awarded a Mackenzie Scott gift alongside other cutting-edge and brilliant organizations. BAJI fights for the rights of African Americans and Black migrants through organizing, legal advocacy, research, policy, and narrative building to improve the conditions of Black communities by advancing racial justice and migrant rights. On behalf of BAJI’s board of directors, staff, team and members we appreciate the generosity. Thank you for standing in this fight for justice with us.
Nana Gyamfi, Executive Director, BAJI
“Thank you, Mackenzie Scott, for this generous gift! This gift allows us to broaden and deepen our capacity to fight for Black liberation. Congratulations to the entire BAJI team for this wonderful recognition of the impactful inspiring work you do with our communities, partners, and allies. I am also glad to see her investment in our sibling Black migrant organizations and the still under-resourced Black migrant rights ecosystem. Finally, I encourage others who are interested in racial, social, and economic justice to join Mackenzie Scott in supporting the continuing development of a bigger, bolder, badder BAJI and Black migrant ecosystem over the next few years and beyond.”
